What precautions do you take to stop your steel products from rusting?

Park Supplies uses a unique capping system so contact between fittings and posts is eliminated, this stops chemical reaction rusting (when stainless steel fittings are put through steel, the steel will rust faster at these points). These caps also deter vandals. All of our steel tubes and posts are galvanised inside and out to stop rusting and then a zinc sheild coating is baked on before the powder colour. We also have coastal coating options as an upgrade as well.

 

What precautions do you take to stop your wood products from prematurely cracking and twisting?

Park Supplies does not use centre core timber and our timber is pre- dried. Park Supplies uses only high treated pine, the treatment does not leach - making it safe for both the environment and children.

 

Will the colours on your Playground last?

Plastic components supplied by Park Supplies are compounded plastic and UV stabilised - this locks in the colour. Steel components are galvanised, zinc sheilded and power coated for the best and toughest finish possible. Park Supplies can also supply powder coat quality touch up paint should any chips appear overtime.

 

Do you use nails on your Playgrounds?

NO! Nails can cause premature splitting in wood, they are also an easy target for vandals and worst of all nail heads can rise out of the wood creating dangerous points for hands and feet. Park Supplies uses stainless pan head screws to attach timber planks.

 

What do we put under our playgrounds?

We recommend cushion fall woodchip safety surfacing, its a clean version of bark that knits together better. This means your children and playground can stay cleaner, reducing time and money you spend on maintenance. Also we have many rubber matting surfacing options available to you.

 

Will you help me?

We will give you as much or as little help as you require with your playground, we can visit your site (where possible) and get together a custom design plan for your playground.

 

What safety standard do you work to?

All our playgrounds are designed and manufactured in accordance with the NZS:5828:2004 Playground Safety Standards.
